Eye prescription difference
« Reply #1 on: July 18, 2011, 09:09:50 AM »
Q: I have about equal nearsighted vision. I just got a new pair of glasses which are causing irritation. The left sphere is -.5 ; the right is +.5. Could this difference be causing the problem?
A: Assuming that your eyes have "equal nearsighted vision", the prescription for glasses would normally be about the same on both sides. That is to say one would not be a +0.50 and the other a -0.50. If this is a mistake, it won't physically harm your eyes, but can result in visual discomfort. Perhaps a call to the prescribing doctor is in order?
